The GMC can be used for monitoring accurate weather info or other field data at an airport.

Being the heart of the ITS Technology, RWIS, the GMC can forecast which makes it possible in any weather situation to control maintenance operations or to transmit warnings. The information is automatically distributed to the maintenance and operations department at the airport over the Intra/Internet and as a WAP solution. This will give the appropriate stakeholder all the vital information needed, and in time for making accurate decisions to keep the airport operational.
